The 25th International AIDS Conference, AIDS 2024, is happening in Munich, Germany, and online from July 22 to 26, 2024. The AIDS 2024 Scholarship Program aids attendees globally, covering both physical and virtual participation. This program sponsors access to pre-conference events on July 21 and 22, specifically for those lacking financial means to attend. It targets individuals contributing to the conference and aiming to apply gained knowledge in their communities.

Eligibility:

  • Open to individuals involved in HIV-related work, volunteering, or studies, aged at least 18 by July 20, 2024.
  • Prioritized applicants include abstract presenters, workshop facilitators, Global Village organizers, those from lower-income nations, key populations, people living with HIV, young individuals, and junior investigators under 35.
  • Those who haven’t previously received a scholarship for an International AIDS Conference are preferred.

Requirements:

  • Emphasis on abstract presenters, workshop facilitators, Global Village organizers, individuals from low-income and lower-middle-income countries, key populations, people living with HIV, young individuals, and junior investigators below 35.
  • Financial support covers in-person and virtual attendance, including registration, travel, accommodation, and daily living expenses.

Timeline:

  • November 15, 2023: Submissions open
  • January 23, 2024: Submissions close
  • February/March 2024: Review and selection
  • Early April 2024: Announcement of results

Application Procedure:

  • Applicants must respond to queries regarding their background, HIV-related experience, and motivation to attend the conference.
  • A recommendation letter, in English, from a manager or colleague familiar with the applicant’s HIV-related work or studies is required, on the organization’s letterhead and dated within two months of the application, supporting the candidate’s suitability for the scholarship.
